Our first date

It was on Saturday, the 29th of June 2019 when we first met.

Azalea and Darian.

Do you remember how that day was like baby? I remember it to be a fair bit rainy and windy. It must be so as the usual suspects were out – good ol’ jacky and my silly hat. Not to mention the many layers we both wore or the fact that the dart I rolled just before you popped out of Flagstaff Stn was rudely blown away by the wind – ah the first of our many dates, and darts 😛

We agreed on a few important things that day. For instance, how markets are sick, Austro – a ripoff and that smokes and soaps are good. We have come pretty far since then and now agree on a lot more things, the most important one being that we love each other. Now that story will be told at a later date 😉

If I had to describe our first date in one word it would be… unassuming.

Why you ask?

Well it’s simply because you gave no warning as to the storm that you were going to unleash upon my heart, nor the gradient of colours that I would begin to see with my eyes (literally). Words slowly began to fail me. Darling you should know that I live for words and everything it resembles. Though somehow, for some odd reason, when I met you I began to stumble. Words don’t quite do it, they’re simply not enough. The emotions coursing through my heart and veins are akin to a hurricane but the words that bleeds through my fingers are merely gentle showers of rain.

You walked into my life so unassumingly on the 29th of June and spoke to me in a language that only my heart could understand. I did try my best to pen my feelings into words and so came up with a little something :-

Surreal

And just like that,
I began counting the days till I see you again.
Life measured in seconds, minutes, hours, weeks,
till my hand is in yours,
lips, against yours.

You came so unassumingly and whisked me away,
to a place I want to always stay,
where I can finally stop.. counting the days.

Thank you for popping out with me that morning Darian, and changing my life. I love you and can’t wait for more adventures with you.

Yours,
Azalea
